VELLORA
Heavy curtains drawn across a dim room with candles burning low, the space prepared before a ritual begins

What Happens Next

You have asked. Here is the rest.

From the reply that comes back to you, to the quiet left in the room the next morning.

I

Within the day

A reply written by a person

Your request is read, not sorted. A member of the house writes back with the evenings still open, the ritual we think is yours, and one or two questions about the week you have had.

Nothing is confirmed until you say the date out loud. If the evening you wanted has gone, we tell you plainly and offer the nearest one.

II

The week before

One short letter, and nothing to arrange

A pre-ritual letter arrives. It tells you which room to leave clear, what to wear so you are not adjusting anything later, and the hour to stop answering messages.

You do not shop, tidy, or prepare. Every product, cloth, candle, and warm thing comes with your practitioner.

You leave out
A towel, and a clear surface
We carry in
Table, linen, oils, candles, sound
A practitioner tipping rose petal bath salts from a glass jar into its lid beside a hammered gold bowl of water and a gold hand mirror

III

Twenty minutes early

The room is set before you are touched

Your practitioner arrives ahead of the hour and works quietly. Light drops to candle level, scent enters the air, the table is dressed, and the sound of the street is closed out.

You are not needed for any of it. Most women sit down with tea and let the room change around them.

Setting
Twenty minutes, unhurried
Light
Candles only, from the first knock
A candlelit arched room with a dressed treatment table and pillar candles set low on a stone plinth

IV

Ninety minutes

An hour with no clock inside it

The ritual moves at the pace your body agrees to. Talk if you want to talk. Go quiet if you would rather. Nothing is announced, nothing is offered for sale, and no one is waiting outside the door.

One woman is taken each evening, so there is no next appointment shaping the end of yours.

Length
Ninety minutes, kept open
Company
One practitioner, one woman
A practitioner hand working warm oil slowly across a woman bare shoulder in low light

V

After

The house leaves, the quiet stays

Everything is packed away as softly as it came in. You are not asked to review anything or rebook at the door. A keepsake is left on the table, and the room stays unusually calm for the rest of the night.

A note follows the next day with what your practitioner noticed, and what she would set differently next time.

Left with you
Warm skin, a keepsake, a settled room
The day after
One note, then nothing
A practitioner in wine scrubs cradling a woman feet at the end of the table under a cream blanket

Nothing is left for you to organise. That is the whole point of the house.

If a detail still worries you, ask it before you book. We would rather answer it now than have you thinking about it during your hour.

Evenings are kept few

Ask for the evening. The rest is already arranged.
