Vellora Circle
The house is not opento everyone at once.
The book the house reads before the calendar opens.
No cost, nothing owed. Toronto and the surrounding area.
Before anything is offered
You are the one everybody else leans on.
You have stopped booking things for yourself.
You are tired in a way sleep does not reach.
You would like it to be already handled.
If you read those and went quiet, the house was built around you.
Read who the house was built aroundThe company you keep here
Women who are learning to put it all down.
Not a mailing list. A small standing company of women in Toronto practising the same thing: letting themselves receive without earning it first.
A few times a year the house sets a long table for them. Private dinners, low light, no speeches. Between those, seasonal evenings offered by letter and posted nowhere.
Most have never met. They recognise each other anyway.

What the Circle holds
Four things, kept to the letter.
- First claim on evenings
- The Circle is read before the calendar opens to anyone else.
- The founding rate
- The rate you join at is the rate you keep, even as the calendar narrows.
- Invitations posted nowhere
- Private dinners and seasonal evenings, offered by letter and listed nowhere on this site.
- The letters
- A few a year. Nothing is sold in them.
Kept to the letter, for as long as she stays with the house.
Only so many evenings exist in a week.
Circle is how she stands in front of that calendar before it closes.
The light over Toronto tonight
From a woman who has been through an evening
I honestly booked it thinking it would be nice and then I fell asleep on the table, which I never do. My husband said I looked like a different person. I slept nine hours that night.

Vellora Circle
Put your name in the book.
One address, read once, kept privately, used only when an evening opens.
The book
Women across Toronto have already put their names down.
No cost, and nothing is owed by putting your name down. One address, kept privately, and you may leave the Circle at any time. The founding rate stays only while the first season does.
Asked before
- Does joining Vellora Circle cost anything?
- No. It is free and commits you to nothing. You pay only if you choose an evening, at the rate you joined at.
- What happens after I put my name down?
- One note confirming your name is in the book. After that, you hear when evenings open, before the calendar is public.
- What are Circle dinners?
- A few times a year, a long table set for a small number of women from the Circle. Dinner, low light, no speeches. Seats offered by letter, first to the names longest in the book.
- Why is availability so limited?
- Each ritual is given to one woman at a time, unhurried. Only so many evenings exist in a week.
- Where does Vellora go?
- Homes across Toronto and the surrounding area. Nothing is needed beyond a room and a door that closes.
