The House

Nothing is askedof you here.

An evening described in full, so that the only surprise left is how it feels.

The Sequence

Five moments, in the order they arrive.

  1. I

    Before

A short letter, then nothing to arrange

Once your evening is confirmed you receive one note. It tells you what to leave out, what to wear, and what time to stop answering messages. There is no checklist beyond that.

  2. II

    The door

    Your practitioner arrives early

Twenty minutes before the hour begins, everything comes in quietly: linen, warmth, botanicals, candles, sound. You do not carry anything and you do not tidy anything.

  3. III

    The room

    One ordinary room turns

Light drops to candle level. Scent enters before touch does. By the time the table is dressed, the room you live in no longer sounds like the room you live in.

  4. IV

    The hour

Ninety minutes with no clock in it

The ritual moves at the pace your body agrees to. Nothing is announced, nothing is upsold, and no one is waiting outside the door for the next appointment.

  5. V

    After

The house leaves, the quiet stays

Everything is packed away as softly as it came in. You are left with warm skin, a keepsake, and a room that stays unusually calm for the rest of the night.

What Comes In

The house travels in one quiet load.

  • A dressed table, warm linen, and weighted blankets
  • Candlelight, low enough that the room changes character
  • Botanical oils, warmth, and a scent chosen for the ritual
  • Sound that sits under the room rather than over it
  • A keepsake, left behind for after

What You Do

Answer the door.

No tidying, no preparation, no conversation about goals. Leave out one clear space, and let the evening take it from there.

The room you already live in is enough.

Care and discretion are the two things this house never improvises.

Care and Discretion

    IIWeight at the feet
  • A practitioner tipping rose petal bath salts from a glass jar into its lid beside a hammered gold bowl of water and a gold hand mirror
    IIISalt and water, measured out
  • Oiled hands resting along a woman collarbone while she keeps her eyes closed in warm light
    IVOil warmed in the hand
  • A practitioner holding both hands above a woman forehead in a room washed in deep red light
VLow red light, over the head
  • A woman in red silk turning through sheer crimson fabric in near darkness
    VISilk, turning
  • A woman in champagne silk seated in a boucle chair as late window light falls across floor length curtains and roses in a pale vase
    VIIThe chair, kept for after
  • A woman in champagne silk leaning forward to open a wine-coloured Vellora keepsake box beside a vase of pink roses
    VIIIThe box, opened last
  • A woman in profile drawing a length of red chiffon around her against a black backdrop
    IXThe last of the light
